Looking for a girl

Is there a way i can stop being quiet? I don't know how to start a conversation well and a lot of people seem to get bored from when i try to talk.

I suggest going to a convention. Expensive a bit, but you can learn a lot. Just go to the vendor hall, find some shit you like/want, and hang around there. Once you see other people admiring the same stuff (or stuff nearby), just be all like "Oh! You like that too?" You can do similar at a local store, just stick to the topic for a bit, let the other person talk as well, and let it flow naturally. Keep at it. BTW, I'm usually very quiet, had to learn this from a friend

Konad's ideas are good ones. The bottom line is that the only way you can get better is practice. Even if it's difficult or awkward at first, put yourself in situations where you have to converse with people and you'll get better at it over time.

Har har, I have the same problem.. I can't small talk with people. If I have to talk to someone, like at work, I get straight to the point and that's it. But! I can say being a salesman in the past has helped with my problem. I used to get really nervous if I had to talk to anyone but, work has really helped me relax.

What worked for me was being put into situations where I had to talk to people. The more I got used to talking to people because I had to, the easier it became to talk to people because I wanted to.

I agree with all those points. I used to be incredibly shy when I was younger and sometimes I went an entire day without saying a word at all. Overtime, I started going out more and meeting more people, and now my social skills have improved significantly. As for starting a conversation, one suggestion could be that when you first meet someone you could ask them what they like to do or what they are interested in. If you two have something in common I'm sure you both could find a lot to talk about that subject or those subjects. If they mention something that interests you, but you don't have a lot of knowledge about that topic, start asking them questions about that (don't worry - people love to talk about themselves). It'll help you learn more things, move the conversation along, and from there you'll have a lot more to talk about with future people you meet. Good luck and keep believing in yourself. :)
