Stress

The stress is real people. So I'm having yet another surgery week and I'm getting really sick and tired of 'em. Like, how many times does this need to happen. I've been stressing out over my future career and I'm being told I may or may not make to 24. (they have the letters MD after their names, how they still don't know is beyond me) I'm 21, I don't need this. Anyone got any good ways with handling a lot of stress?

Hmm, this may seem like an obvious answer but meditation is a great way to deal with stress.. there are books and audio books on the subject which are easily acquired and if done seriously and diligently, it can be EXTREMELY effective in many ways. I highly recommend it. It's not very difficult, doesn't take physical activity since you're getting surgeries.. all it takes is time. 40 minutes to an hour a day is recommended. Good luck! Stay strong!

I agree with mikorin. Also, talking with someone can just reduce stress. A lot of people here, including myself, wouldn't mind helping you.

Meditation, massages, yoga, running, sex (yup legit reason for it), comedy (laughing), talking to a psych profesional. Vacations. It all depends on personality like when are you the most calm. Videogames as long as its with friennds and not competitive. Videogammes can also cause stress so thing like card games that make you do stupid. Things would be more accurate. And my personal favorite hitting stuff. Go to gym and either work out, or find one with a sand bag. And hit it untill you feel spent. Remember not to hurt yousellf doing it though, if need be join a martial arts class.

For me, just talking with close friends helps to relieve stress. I even found talking with therapists really nice, since you can tell them stuff you may not be able to tell family/friends, and as long as it's not dangerous(suicide, violence), they'll keep it 100% secret. Music too can help you relax/calm down, and has that time-distorting ability.

In the 1980s they began to frantically study stress because they predicted it would be a leading cause of death by now. Indirectly it is. Men and women relieve biological stress in different ways. Doing certain nice things for women is proven to lower stress. As Kohagura said talking to people who are close or who they can communicate with comfortably. Girl talk lowers stress as they are more social. Comparing and evaluating things is another, that's partly why some like to shop or browse catalogs and mags. As boundbyluck said orgasms are a very effective way due to the amount of hormonal release, way more than men actually. Their biology has a very high stress tax compared to men. Men are mostly easy mode. We relieve stress by doing things; solving problems, overcoming sources of stress, competing, exploring and creating to name some. They think more men are gamers because winning and getting those achievements actually chemically triggers something that lowers chemical stress in the body if it was an engaging contest. Sex is a combo of stress breakers rolled into one activity. Solving problems ie. pleasing your lover and having a good time of it. The orgasm is just a sleeping pill of refuge for men because sleeping is the only time our bodies do not constantly make more stress hormones. Gaining peer acknowledgement is also another.
