Surely he could limit the amount of power mods get, like just giving them the power to temp ban until he gets the chance to look through offensive posts himself and then fully ban them.

the problem with giving ppl the power of a moderator is that the person have to be possible to "trust your life with" in way. There will always be a 50/50 chance that ppl abuse their power as "newly appointed mod". I'm opposing the idea of moderators... but I'm in favor of a solution that makes for a more efficient ban system that doesn't require a 100% overwatch from Sephirot >-<

Hmm...how about automatically suspending an account if a post is reported by three or four different people, and then when Sephiroth has time he can look through the posts and decide whether to perma-ban them or not? (If it's even possible to do that)

Well, all I'm saying is that having mods on a social forum is common sense. Hell, I'll even say that I haven't seen any kind of forum without some kind of security in place.

Do you think it has to do with this site being a "work in progress sort of thing" and isn't fully functional yet in many areas?
