Anyone dreams of making Manga 4 a career?

illustrationofsacred_ink
How passionate are you when it comes 2 your artwork? Is it more a hobby or do you want more?
rinatanchu
Maybe not as a career but as something to do for money, yes. As a career, I hope to do a variety of things in illustration such as medical illustrations to stories in books. I would also like to do character design. I took a class for storyboarding for during the summer at the local community college and it wad fun and I learned a lot because I never did anything like that before. So I would also like to get into animation as well. At the moment, I am working on painting traditionally and hard and soft-shell shading in digital drawings. I would say I am very passionate because I spend a lot of time and money into creating artwork and I must say, I have really improved a lot in painting as well as drawing the human figure in the last year.

Definitely not as a career since my dream is now to become a game dev. However I'm gonna be doing some fan work on the sides when I have the time. Already started.

Mangaka as a career is too early for me or maybe not. Im still a beginner. currently working part-time under comics&animation company. So, many things must to be improved. I received diff tasks every week. Designing cover page, documentation, helping other staff's project, self mini project, kiosk design and ect... Honestly, my artwork always make MrBossy mad. Haha... I like when he mad x]

Friendly reminder of mangaka's schedule in Japan is intense http://i.imgur.com/jFhnTgg.jpg I see a lot of people say they wanna go to Japan and be a mangaka's but it isn't really worth it. It may not be read by anyone and it may be harder to get punblished being a foreigner. The standard of living is one of the highest in the world as well meaning it is expensive. Though things are becoming cheaper recently, yes, it is because the economy isn't doing well currently. @Rina It's important that people keeps their fantasies in check. It's good to have dreams, but all in the feasible department. Real life can be cruel sometimes.

not sure if Comics and Manga fall under the same thing (both are similar yet different), but yes I do want to do both. Yet I know that it won't be enough, so I'm getting into Art in general, mostly leaning towards Animation. I've still have alot to learn and improve my skills further. I do have alot of passion for it *edit* And yes I want to get my Mangas/comics done *someday
