Have you ever wanted to just see the world burn?

arc
Sorry to bring up such a dark topic, but I got to thinking; I sometimes find myself wishing for a catastrophic event to break up the monotony of life. Is it strange to wish for something so dangerous just to feel more alive? Do any of you guys ever feel the same?
neet_one
No because I'm not a psycho who thinks death and destruction is cool.
arc
Actually Neet, not everyone who is drawn to chaos and danger is a psychopath. Take firefighters, for example.

firefighters don't start fires, they fight them. Pretty sure they don't sit around wishing for people's houses to catch on fire either.

No need to criticize someone for stating a thought, as humans we all have random thoughts that pop into our heads. Doesn't mean we're ever going to act on it, or truly believe it would be for the better. I've gotten that feeling a lot, but then I watch post-apocalyptic anime and realize that if that were reality, I'd probably be a side character that gets caught under some falling support beam or something.

Firefighters don't need to wish for it to happen, because it does happen. I asked a firefighter once why he runs towards the fire and he said that he just wanted to save people for a living. It's that feeling that makes him feel alive. That's the feeling I sometimes get curious about.

Also, thanks for being understanding, Yangusis. I'm not offended by Neet because he frequently takes the opposite side of people posting on this site.

Yeah I suppose you're right angusis, morbid curiosity gets the better of everyone from time to time. Sorry for the psycho comment Arc. I will say though there's a big difference between wanting to save people from a catastrophic event, and wishing a catastrophic event would happen.

Apology accepted. I guess it is a kind of morbid curiosity I sometimes have.

The world? Nah, the world is cool. Now humans... http://i291.photobucket.com/albums/ll287/21wq/ponies/thumb_zps37e3c222.png But no matter how you try to make it pan out, there's no way to get rid of all of them by yourself.
