Sadly after certain age having an important job or not seems to be a big deal breaker, in fact despite I have two grades (journalist and ad designer) I'm simply working as an ad designer at our family business, so I'm not sure how could that affect someone's interest about me.
I personally wouldn't even mind if she doesn't have a job at all! Do you care about that when you're interested in someone?

As long as it's stable and pays enough to pay the bills.

Good job is important because it build your confident and raise your social status. Nothing like in the anime how real life work. Peasant with the noble can never share interest and belief. Getting a good a job is a definite to be successful in life and get a better option wife/husband.

Can't agree with you there. Everywhere has there own definition of success, and it doesn't necessarily have to include having a "good job". What's even a "good job"? One that pays well? or one that won't make you feel like like throwing yourself under a bridge or something? I don't know. That's up to you.

I'm reminded of an episode of Mythbusters where they had a room full of women rate the attractiveness of guys by their pictures and occupation. Jobs ranged from Doctor to Janitor. You can start to guess who got the higher votes. Now to tip that scale, they showed the same photos to another group of women but swapped their jobs. Now the janitor was a doctor and vice versa. All of a sudden, those guys who had the lower paying jobs in the first round were a whole lot more attractive.

yeah a good stable job is really important to most women out there. younger ones might not care as much though.
Personally I don't care about that sort of thing in a partner, but that's not unusually for a guy. Sure it would put more pressure on me if she didn't have a job but some people are worth working extra hard for.

A job that helps you pay the bills but allows you to spend time with the girlfriend/Wife/Kids.
You dont live to work, you work for what you want in life.

It depends on what kind of relationship I'm looking for. If it's serious, then yeah, income is gonna be a considering factor to any serious relationship. That doesn't mean money is the ONLY factor, but there's a lot of very expensive decisions/events that can happen in a serious relationship. Stuff like pregnancy (such a huge money suck) or being involved in the financial aspect of say, a medical emergency, having bills that you both accrue together. There should be discussions on how to handle those issues before escalating a relationship. In my opinion at any rate.
I think it's more important that a person is fiscally responsible, more so than that he's in the highest income bracket. If two people can't work towards the same goals, fiscally, then theirs is not a relationship that's going to be healthy nor last long.
