Apathetic atheist. I don't really care about any religion and I don't believe in supernatural forces. It doesn't affect any part of my life so I don't really think much about it.

Oh the can of worms this thread opens. I was raised Mormon but have since become inactive. I consider myself some what agnostic or maybe just atheist at this point? I want to say I like to follow buddhist ways of thinking but with my lack of knowlege of buddhism and what it consists of I don't want to just call it that. I don't know if there is any higher being, to me it seems silly for there to be one based on how the universe works. I could go for the whole once things got started it was hands off, but I would like a better answer (more scientific?) I tend to follow more of the 'just be a good person' way of thinking. I see many times people forget to take care of their fellows and world around them. I think religion is great to teach morals, but can cause issues such as terrorism or killing (more people have died in the name of religion/god than any other cause/reason). This can become a passionate topic for me so I am trying not to go on a rant about it. I am interested to see what others have to say.

"So what's your take on religion?" Religion was created to comfort the people at hard times. Histories were told from generation to generation, until the original history was lost and something remained: Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, Hindu and so on... Religion is nothing but a twisted history. "Do you follow any? If so what?" No, I don`t. I`m an agnostic atheist. "If not, why not?" The idea of the existence of something transcendent is impossible, in my opinion. However, I don`t know if spirits are real or not. I`ve seen some weird things, and makes me uncomfortable discussing them. Basically, I know that God doesn`t exist, but spirits is another different story. Did you knew that someone dead weights less than alive? Let`s suppose I weight 60,0 Kg. If I die and someone measures my weight, I would be like 59,8 Kg or 59,7 Kg, nad mass was not lost. Explain this to me. PS: I`ll give you an hint. Higgs` Boson a.k.a "god`s particle".

That's not what the higgs boson is and that was an old flawed experiment with the weight loss thing... Existence can hardly be proven true, let alone any god/s... So thar ya have it. I believe cars need makers...so...yeah.

In reference to what you said yaasshat: I pretty much agree as programmers must write the programs, they don't just appear. But whatever it was that started it all, doesn't have to be a being, It could just be an event or occurance. Our limited knowlege may cause us to see it easier by calling it a being, but without enough info, we can't say. I just wanted to submit that idea and see what is thought about it.

I don't really associate myself with any particular religion. I mean I was born into a Christian family. Had all that bible stuff hammered into my skull. But after certain events, let's just say that the only way you're getting me into a church again is if you send me in there with a bottle of 151, and possibly a match. Anyway, jokes aside, as far as I can tell, religion always seems to be the center of many conflicts due to different beliefs colliding with one another, trying to prove that their religion is the only true religion, and everyone else is just bullshit. Now I'm not saying that all religious people are irrational, and are looking to cause a fight. I know there are normal ones who are respectable of others beliefs, and then there's the crazy ones like this women here http://youtu.be/bntfUA6TmLs Now just remove these type of parasites from the equation, and you got yourself religion without conflict. Because in my opinion, Religious beliefs should not be some type of almighty law forced on others, it should be a set of moral guidelines for people who wish to improve themselves. I mean if you take pride in your religion that's fine, just be respectable to those who share different beliefs, and that's my opinion on the subject

Religion is an error handler for the.human brain, it helps us ease the frustration of that which we cannot comprehend because of our.mortal limitations.
