My first weapon used as such was a bronze ax, but I felt that one handed swords suited me better since I'm rather small and my wrists aren't as good as they used to be. More specifically the Gaelic-Norse Arming Sword. Though I am comfortable using wakizashi also.

If it can't be swung over your head to crush skulls, I don't want it. (Gimme that war hammer! Because I think 2 handed hammers are the only 2 handed weapons that actually are viable irl)
