Do you believe posting in the forums helps find a mate?

That and the user base just isn't very big. That's why I think there has to be more emphasis on the social aspect, it'd attract more attention period. I'm not even looking ( Hell, my girlfriend is sitting in front of me playing Scooby Doo on the Wii U as I type.), but I do like the social aspects even if all I do is mess around on the forums.

I agree with you yaasshat this dating site concept completely makes it feel like you need to just go after certain people and respond to them specifically rather then make friends and talk to others. I have seen it happen too many times on the forums and profiles.

Sadly you kind of almost "have" to go after certain people because you cannot search out people by gender, name, or anything else so if you see someone who even remotely might work you kind of have to go after them because one anybody compatible disappears you never know when someone else might come up again because your stuck with only those on the forums, new to the site, or whoever you can find by searching through other's friends.

Oh no I meant the people who only just go after certain people and dont think about adding anything or making friends. Although that is their choice.

When I did use dating sites, I had more luck on pof and okcupid. I had a Shit ton of phone numbers and atleast met up with one and most never used the forums on either.

Those sites are pretty big we do have to admit as you said maiotaku just has a niche group and a small one at that out of all the otakus out there we barely probably have any from the total who come on here.

I come here for the community to be honest, not to get dates but to still leave the option open. Though I will admit that I'll probably check out those other sites but I'm not too fond of big dating sites...

In my opinion, one can still make friends without having to write in the forums, but it depends on the persons personallity, for some its easier to make friends than others, for others it ends with them giving u one or two responces before they decide to stop talking to u And some dont even get a single response The forums are pretty much the same, if one choses to be active, how are u gonna be sure anyone will pay attention to u, its true that u can make an interesting topic and see how it goes, or if u make a topic u think is interesting but some find it offensive and decide to trash u, so i guess it depends on ur own take on this Some people are too shy to actually talk or participate in a forum cuz theyre afraid they wont get a response, but if more people could speak their minds on forums without fear of getting trashed or ignored then im sure people would be more active

definitely, it helps get not just your profile out there but your opinion on things and lets others see how you think and feel. I hate it when people don't post in forums, if u don't then how the hell do you get your name out D:? (plus forums can be so fun :D!!)
