I usually study romaji since it's easier to understand.

Question. I've heard of katakana, hiragana, and kanji. What is romaji?

romaji is like the english spelling for things like hajimemashite and gomen etc

私は日本語を話すことができます!! I have a minor in it and haven't used it in awhile so it's a little rusty. Sometimes the kanji trips me up since it's been awhile. >_<

i can speak it but i cannot understand it in writing (i used to know a japanese guy and he taught me how to speak)
