Are you a convenient friend?

As it says are you someones convenient friend? What I mean by that is are you the person they only want to hang out with when they're bored or its beneficial them in some way? I tend to keep my friends circle small, I used to know someone like this but stopped talking to them. I often notice things almost immediately.

To some. Everybody is, in some way. You have your good friends that you can talk about anything with. Then there are those people that your like, "you know, it's good when I see you, but sometimes you bug the crap out of me, So I'm going to not talk to you until I can tolerate you again." There are people that I talk with just about certain similar interests like games or whatever. I'm not trying to make everyone my best friend, but if you happen to be... great! It's because I met you, we connected somehow, and we're not fucking. Hurray (sometimes).

True, everyone probably is at some point. lol If I can't tolerate being around a person that much then I probably won't bother being around them at all.

Not really. I just work so often people are forced to assume that I am still at work, but they still throw me a text or FB message. I tend to be the life of the party.

I'm usually busy as well, but it really depends on who hits me up. Friend A: hang out with all the time, calls to hang out = Just a good friend Friend B: Don't often talk much, get a random text wanting to hang out = probably convenient Friend C: Someone you haven't seen in like years due to moving or something, hits you up = awkward Friend D: Someone you don't talk to much, but needs a ride somewhere = convenient But mostly I'm just a good friend

I think we all have friends who are fun to hang out with but we don't really talk on deeper levels and only hang out when it's convenient for us. However, for the most part, I'm always there for when my friends need me even if we don't always talk or hang out. I guess a good example is that when my friend was going through a mental breakdown I let him stay at my apartment and I helped him through it, since I too suffer from dysthymia, and just wanted him to know that regardless of his depression he has ways he can get through it and that he doesn't have to go through it alone. I know I'm not the best friend or person but I do try to at least take the time to support others when they really need it regardless of a busy schedule even if they may not do the same for me.
