Meeting at conventions?

karimoon
I wish I could meet someone at a con. I'm nice & my happy giddy self the entire time at cons but no takers...le sigh. Good luck to you though buddy I'm sure something will happen for you. ^o^

I have to try this. I often ask to take a picture, but I never get past that. Guess I need to build up my courage. Btw, there were some ral cuties at this year's New York Anime Festival that I wish I approached :(

I have had great talks and discussions with fellow otaku at the two cons I've been to, but they never panned out really. But yeah, being yourself is key because a false front means a false relationship.

I've actually met my first bf at otakon and we dated for 2 years and then it i ended about last september. I've really learned alot of things. Esp if its your first relationship. I would say meeting someone at a con is a 50/50. chance. I've met some nice people and some ass holes. -_-l But cosplaying and going to convention's it sort of get's rid of ones shyness. it worked for me. But maybe not for everyone.

Met my ex at a con, so I know you can find a gf at a con, but no luck getting a new one (been looking for years now). Unfortunatly, now when I'm at cons I'll sometimes spot happy con couples and be all sad and stuff.

I've been interested in one person that I've been meeting at the same convention for three years now. But she lives in a neighboring state, and I live here, and I generally worry that I risk invading her own personal life. I mean, we only meet in person like once a year and we still barely know one another. Mostly my own fault. Just too shy, I guess. Other problem I worry about is the age difference. Being 27, I worry about accidentally hitting on a teen. It's hard finding the adults in the group. Especially in this hobby, no offense.

As you said the two of you barely know one another. So you don't have all that much to ruin by trying. But since I'm also stuck being single, my advice might not be all that good. lol

I just realized I went off on a complete tangent between the one girl and meeting girls in general. The hell was I thinking?
