Meeting at conventions?

I've been thinking about checking out the anime speed dating at con, but I'm concerned it'll be more like the Anime dating game which at the con I frequent has gone way down hill since we lost the CoO guys.

The con I normaly go to every year held something called a Gokon. Unfortunatly they where underprepaired. It was to short and they ended up turning half the people away because they ran out of room. There are plans to try again next time, but with better preparations. Witch is good because it did have potential.

Prime PM, you do have a point; accidentally hitting on a teen was a major concern for me, especially on Sunday (Kids' Day at NYAF). Hopefully, I'll have more luck next year and I hope I'm not a bundle of nerves like last time >.<

So how many people here have tryed cosplaying as a couple for a con? Back when I was with my ex, she talked me into it, and I had a lot of fun. Granted I had to make a costume I would probably neaver have made otherwise to go with the one she already had, but it was worth it. Would definatly do that again. But first I'll have to find a new girlfriend.

My approach to this is (in my words more or less) " I try to never do something that I will regret, but in the end I know that I will regret having done nothing at all." so far it holds true to my social life as I am able to talk to girls and become friends but it rarely gets past that.

Yea that worry about seeming like a stalker is why I don't do this, I hear a lot of people say it is a good idea but when I went to try it I noticed it could have been seen as creepy...

I assume that's one of the biggest worries of Otaku dating: "Coming off as a Stalker". Mattaku....I hope I can find someone at a con, especially since I'm trying to go to one in March! It's gonna be my very first.

y'all are over thinking it. it's creepy and stalker-ish to just stare and not talk... or to declare undying love instantly. //the definition of a convention is a meeting place where you talk/do activities pertaining to a common interest... so when you see a hottie just say hi, ask what they like, share a little bit about what you like. maybe they'll be your soulmate someday, but first things first... is it someone you can talk to and have fun w/?

"but first things first... is it someone you can talk to and have fun w/?" That's right on the money. Have fun at conventions. Don't turn them into an ordeal. If you just relax and make friends, good things will happen.

Oh wait, sorry. It's in May, not March. DARN MY POOR TYPING.
