Yaoi has that "forbidden" homosexual element as well as the cultural views that are different towards men and women. Where women (particularly in Japan) are not supposed to be overtly sexual (except in harem anime) but guys are more free to express themselves. Probably contributes to much more yaoi than yuri romance. Also Asian guys are generally more attractive and androgynous than European males. I just re-watched Madoka Magica and realized it was pretty much a yuri lovestory. But no really overt sexuality. Yaoi can be much more sexual on average, like Boku no Pico to take an extreme where you usually won't see that in a yuri type situation. I also find situations where there is teasing but not really sex to be much more stimulating than hentai. KissXSis for example, though I do have a mild fetish for bro-sis romance/sexuality.

Hello, I've seen you posting lately but just noticed you are older than most. I'm not the oldest one on here, but probably the oldest currently active member. I watched a few anime movies years ago, like Akira and Ghost in the Shell but got much more into anime a few years ago when I dated my ex gf. She introduced me to anime conventions and her friend introduced me to Doctor Who so now I'm a big fan of both. How did you hear about this site? My ex had a crush on Sephiroth and I met him a couple times at ACEN in Chicago, and I heard about this from her even though she never bothered to make a profile here.
