Hmm... What can I say here that isn't cliché or anything like that on this site? I guess I'll just put whatever comes to mind then!

I'm a girl who loves anime/manga/Japanese culture, looking for someone who loves anime/manga/Japanese culture. I'm really into almost any type of anime I've ever seen, including the horror genre which is surprising since I can't handle horror stuff very well at all. But for some reason, I keep going back to the more scary ones, like for instance Corpse Party's OVA. The game was more of a mystery type, but the OVA? Holy crap, scary. I had trouble sleeping after that one.

The first anime I ever saw was most likely Pokemon (or Digimon, I can't really remember) but the one I fell in love with was Sailor Moon, and I'm /really/ loving Pretty Guardian Salor Moon Crystal. The animation for the transformations is a little weird and I'm still trying to get used to it, but I /love/ the fact that they're going along with the original story from the manga. Not that the old anime wasn't good! Still love it, but I love this one too, which a lot of people seem to be having trouble doing, which is unfortunate. (ramble)

I was about... 6 or so when I started getting into anime, and even though my parents don't like it since they watched the dubbed Speed Racer and they thought it was terrible, I didn't let their awful criticism of it get me down. Though, I did agree with them on one thing; the English dubbed versions back then were kind of bad. So, after we got our first computer, (yay dial-up internet connections!) I started looking up what anime was like in it's original Japanese versions. And they were /so/ much better! Sure, the female voices were a bit high, and some of them could be a little obnoxious sometimes (i.e. Usagi from Sailor Moon with her nasally, high-pitched, fast-talking nonsense from the first season) but I didn't care. Not only did the words match up so much better and the subtitles make more sense, but it was a different language! I started looking up phrases and trying to self teach myself Japanese by the time I was 11, but even though it's been 13 years, I still don't know everything. Kinda sad, but true. And I can't read kanji to save my life either... One day, I plan on finally learning Japanese fluently, maybe through Rosetta Stone or even taking classes at the community college, but until then, I'll keep self-teaching!

Another thing I self-taught myself thanks to anime was how to draw people. I started off /really/ bad... I tried tracing over some anime pictures I happened to have, and they turned out so bad that I decided that I was better off drawing them just using them as references, and they happened to come out looking /far/ better, so I kept at it. I won't say that I'm the greatest now, but I'm a lot better than what I used to be, which is exciting. Hopefully, I'll be able to continue to improve and one day find myself as an animator for a really popular anime! Hey, it could happen :3

I know this doesn't really describe much else about me other than how much I love anime, but really, anime is everything for me. And even though I've never been to a convention (I'm working on it, I promise! I just gotta figure out 1: how to get there and 2: what I'm going to wear because of course I'll cosplay!) I still consider myself to be an otaku. Hopefully I'll be able to find someone who's sweet and has a lot in common with me!
