Lamby @momoichi i only know anything about wanda vision and her character thanks to film theory. awesome that his theory was actually correct on that xD are you referring to a multiverse? the only multiverse i wanna see is dreadpool. doctor strange just came off as a dick in the newest spiderman, whats his appeal? seems like just another testy quippy strong guy that gets humbled during his film. sorry its so hard not to say mean stuff about superhero stuff, i know you like it and im really glad you enjoy it xD!!

godspell @godspell I really find it frustrating how you don't. But they really don't know how to write doctor strange in other movies. Because he's a greedy self indulgent doctor who initially was noble in researching since 13 to cure his sister but failed. He became a striving neurosurgeon. But because of an accident he lost the use of his hands. Becoming humbled when taught magic after losing everything. Becoming the sorcerer Supreme to continue saving lives. But hes still arrogant in his use of magic

But because of Loki and female loki ended up killing the one in charge causing the multiverse to break. All possibilities aren't in check. Lamby @momoichi my favorite movie is colossal because its not just a kaiju fight movie, its a story about a toxic friendship. i like subversion, and i absolutely hate predictability and cliches. i hate one liners in unrealistic situations and i like real, fully fleshed out characters. peter parker is a fully fleshed out character with compelling relationships (minus mary jane) and relationships with his villains. his villains dont spring up from the wood works, they start as characters and become these terrible monsters. just like how peter could have become one. marvel movies ruin amazing comics by watering them down. iv read the some of the issues of deadpool and while i liked his movies enough, there is no denying they butchered his character. they watered him down so hes no longer insane, and the big 'who is he' was shown in the opening. in the comics we dont even know for sure if he is wade wilson, but the movie doesnt care about that, they needed their immediate origin story. and they gave him a steady gf JUUUUUST TO KILLL HER OFF. NO OTHER REASON! LITERALLY! its cliche!!!! she was a character, she was a plot devise!!! the writing is so lazy! the action scenes are always entertaining and well choreographed, but it really feels like that is the only effort they put into these films.

Hulk is the most complex character even though mark rafflo like meh since avengers 1. Because he talks about how depressed he even wanting take his own life

Changing his company and wanting to protect people in light of how inspiring the friend he made who deserved better. All his sins are always haunting him. They tried to show off demon in the bottle where iron man was an alcoholic and failed to save someone

Lamby @momoichi they bring her back? cause she was shot dead. why give him a girlfriend if not to appeal to normies? she wasnt a character, she could not pass the bechdel test. you know whos an accurate deadpool? deadpool from the video game. he keeps his voices and his only girlfriend is senora muerte, as it should be. the gore and jokes are good enough to make the movie passable, but deadpool IS. NOT. A. HERO. he is a fucking mercenary and they have him doing good guy shit in the second movie! hes doing good guy shit in the first too, but under the excuse of revenge. but these writers think that general audiences will hate a protagonist that doesnt kill baddies. i liked dead pool vs deadpool and i loved deadpool vs carnage, but my all time favorite is deadpool vs gambit. seeing deadpool interact friendly with a fellow criminal and then hunt him down when hes double crossed was great. i want the deadpool that doesnt give two shits about morality, i want the greedy deadpool kills for money and actively harasses super heroes for kicks. he was a fucking villain in ultimate spider man and he was hilarious!! FUCK goody two shoes deadpool!

Lamby @momoichi i will give it to you, hulk is another good character, but thats because hes a character with depth. not someone like batman who goes around in a mother fucking bat suit and beats up poor people (dorkly really shows it best in his videos about batman) bruce banner has a condition that he has to struggle to control. he didnt want to be a superhero, he didnt choose it. his stories are as much man vs self as it is man vs man. what other famous marvel heroes can say this? and what struggle with issues not just got a single arc and its magically cured? or just makes them some quirky mary jane? and there is no reason for quips during a battle. id rather they yell at eachother about their beliefs, stupid unfunny quips by characters that should be panicking and unable to think is so stupid it ruins the immersion every time. a charcter like deadpool can quip, hes actually insane. no one else has an excuse.

godspell @godspell Daredevil easily. His struggle with severe depression finding relief in catholicism. He used to be a light hearted character that would do his work even in day light. But later in the 80s his character would change forever darker tales tackling the kingpin. His arch rival bullseye kills the love of his life. Who is brought back to run a ninja organization. His former lover turn to heroine and prostitution giving up his identity to the kingpin for money

godspell @godspell His establishment burned to the ground. And all he can wonder is why God. Why am I tested. Im only one man. But he simply gets back up from all of his life being destroyed love ones lost. He is even asked how he holds up sometimes. He doesn't sometimes he feels like he's suffocating everyday. He even spent a day talking about his failures to spiderman

Lamby @momoichi i have a soft spot for daredevil purely because of his portrayal as kingpin in spidergwen. iv never seen his show (he had a movie too i think?) but according to the film theory episode on spider man recently, matt murdock is actually a terrible lawyer thats late to most of his cases. (keep in mind, im hating on the movies/shows, not the comics.) id kinda to get into his comics though, because he seems like a kool character. i like that he has a day job

godspell @godspell He has a show on netflix. I like season 2. Because its a battle of morals and methods in crime fighting between him and punisher. Hes not always late. But when he's fighting crime he makes sure foggy his partner can handle it. When he was ban from being a lawyer he gave people consultation how to defend themselves in court

Lamby @momoichi thanos was a moron. if he did the snap in irl humanity as we know it would utterly collapse. there isnt a population problem so much as a resource useable problem. whats nuanced about captain america? and thor, isnt his case with loki just a simple, 'papa liked you best and im the black sheep so imma act out for attention and turn that into villainy as i mature!!' their relationship is a cliche, though i will admit cliches can be fine if theyr protrayed properly. bruce banners anger issues stemming from his childhood abuse was deep, but one sibling getting more attention from the other is skin deep trauma.

Lamby @momoichi he didnt. the idea that less bodies means no resources isnt true, the issue is how are allocate resources and waste them. we need bodies to work jobs, no bodies to work jobs means that businesses have to close to compensate for the lack of labor (your families restaurant experienced this as well) and same goes for farms. you need bodies to work the fields and tend to the animals. no bodies means nothing gets done, so the idea of population control in this manner would lead to the utter and total collapse of our civilization. the snap was a horrible and one dimensional idea.

Lamby @momoichi who? another issue with superhero movies is the lack of real sacrifice. deadpools gf died just to be brought back, her death was purely and utterly a plot convenience, and the events of end game were just undone. it is lazy. when there is no real stakes, there is no real tension. kakegurui had the same issue, and thats why the anime ended up becoming boring. we knew the girls werent to lose and bets and get harmed, so there was no tension when watching the episodes. we knew they would win in the end because they had to. and they always did. that is also why kaiji stands out as the better gambling anime. kaji did lose, and paid dearly for it. you really didnt know what was going to happen to him, you were on the edge of your seat hoping for the best, but unsure.

Lamby @momoichi you want a high population for a better economy. japans declining birthrate has hurt their economy, where as the immigration surge to miami bolstered their economy. more bodies = more jobs = businesses can expand and create even more jobs = more money being put back into said businesses. if half the population disappeared, that includes people that work in the energy sector and farmers. politians would go missing and nations would be left leaderless. it is absolutely a completely surface level idea.

Lamby @momoichi how isnt it a resource problem? it helped in the universe because it doesnt care about logic. they couldnt take 15 more minutes to think of a better way to handle thanos or his wish. it always comes back to laziness. they thought it sounded good and ran with it. look at wallee, humanity ran from earth to save itself and it didnt just end up hunky dory, they became fat and lazy now that robots cared for their every need. the solution was the problem. so they found another solution. in onward the whole goal was for the kid to meet his dad, but he found a different solution. his brother was his father figure, so he appreciated him instead. there is no reason why pixar should have better thought out plots than marvel.

Lamby @momoichi why do you dislike kimetsu? did you read the manga or anime? i disliked kimetsu initially as well because i thought the 2d layer on the water (this was before the first season was over) looked shitty, but when i saw the rest of the shot i saw how well it fit and iv never looked back

godspell @godspell I've watched and binged both. I'm tempted to reread it see if I can change my mind somehow
