I agree, would be nice to read the whole story. I imagine it was an oral tale for a long time. Living in those times would have been quite different. I would have been a shepherd.I would make sheep puns often. https://www.locklip.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/SumerCityUr.jpg

Hopefully someday a Hmong or Chinese or just a plain old person could help uncover our lost history.

Hmm, I don't know if my sisters "specifically" have silver jewelry assigned to them, but we do have these silver neck... hmm.... collars? necklaces?... that we wear on top of our traditional wear during special events. And yes, my parents were originally from Vietnam, they were refugees during the Vietnam War. My dad actually served as a guerrilla fighter for the CIA. A lot of history has been lost, so I don't know my roots exactly and I think we are probably connected with some other sub groups in the mountains. There are only a few clans I know of, I think in total, there might be 12-18 clans? That's a very gross estimate. I'm actually a Yang. I'm not sure what you mean by Gu, but there are differences in Hmong people, such as White Hmong and Green Hmong.

I haven't mastered commenting on a comment, but it's all good. We're all just wanderer's through life anyways and not all paces are the same.

Nope, I'm Hmong, but I've been heavily influenced by the korean wave through my 7 sisters (reminds me of an old wuxia or xianxia films - plus i made fun of my sisters b/c of that, so did my relatives lol). I haven't read any "real" Chinese literature, I feel it'd be easier to read children's books. I tried it w/ those youtube videos singing lullabies and the such in chinese for babie, but it didn't gain me anything except I could repeat what was said. I have not heard of cults taking .... oh wait... hmmm... now that you mention it, I think I did hear something about it once, but it was just a blurb. I think I watched a documentary on Christianity in S.Korea and there was a blurb about that in there. Anyhow, there's this big question I have. So when I was small, I watched this old wuxia/xianxia film and I really enjoyed it. Since then I've always tried to find out what it was and watch it again, but I've never been able to find it. So just a shot out of the dark I thought I'd ask you. I think it was one of my childhood favorite films. All I can remember from it, that was special, is that there was a hand (like in the addam's family) that could move around and was the pet of the main hero. In the end the hero used the hand to kill the villian. Ring any bells? Just a shot in the dark, I've been looking for a few years now.

It was quite well known back in its heyday, but thanks to webnovel.com, its followers are trickling away. It seems when webnovel.com was coming into being they licensed a lot of materials and several sites closed down or lost followers. But it's still struggling along. Perhaps you can help me speculate on why there are so many similar tropes to wuxia/xianxia novels. It seems common for guys to have no balls and to try and create harems. Do you think this is just the authors reflecting the state of males in China and their desires (of course these desires are not just held by Chinese dudes)? Thanks to some of these tropes and others, the genre is growing weary on me and I am starting to find it difficult to find good reading material. At times I wish I had continued w/ my Chinese learning. Also I've noticed that Chinese stories and medium have started to gain ground internationally through these novels and webtoons/anime.
