I really like the theme of specificity within the nervous system, for example there are these immediate early genes that are critical to our neurons establishing their identity and though they are the same in hundreds of types of neurons they can be selectively expressed down to a single type through a combination of "enhancer elements", a system that can even be influenced by the early environment. There are a lot of things that are pretty interesting. The importance of India seems like a interest subject too. Their predecessor the Indus valley civ was one of the earliest to exist but relatively little is known about it compared to say Mesopotamia.
