Thanks, and yes I'd say a general rule would be a three or four year age difference up or down (so 28/29 or 22/23) to look for alrighty

No, I mean that I'm searching for a series called Super Express Hikarian. Its an older mecha anime with train mechs. I've only found the second series online and a couple eps of the first one on youtube. It's a light-hearted silly anime with chibi train mechs. Considering I've been in the mood for lighter, happier anime it's perfect to watch while I'm sewing. As for Suisei no Gargantia, I just haven't felt like watching any newer mecha animes at the moment. Been trying to catch up on some older ones like Giant Gorg and the Machine Robo series.

Oh, I loved Megas XLR. I just rewatched it recently. I've heard of Suisei no Gargantia and it looks good. I'll probably check it out sometime. Right now I'm hunting down old Japanese VHS tapes to get the first series of Hikarian, since I can't find it on DVD. It'll take me awhile to get them all considering there are over 152 eps.

For me it all depends on the anime as to whether I like real or super robots. Like Brigar; I love the show but the size changing from Bri-Star (car) to Bri-Thunder (space jet) then Brigar (giant robot) breaks my brain every time. With Gurren Lagaan I love it because it takes the super robot idea that anything is possible and turns it up to the nth degree. It breaks down to 'If we have guts and just keep screaming as loud as we can we can win!' Same logic came be applied to GaoGaiGar, though without so much random, mind breaking insanity. Then again Kamina's bombastic personality is what sucked me in from the start before before the mechs. Which is why the first 8 eps will always be my favorites. The sheer stupidity and 'WTF?!' of 'Now we have two heads too!' will always make me balk and promptly laugh my ass off. Its random, has no logic behind it, yet draws me in like a moth to the flame. Though now that I found Hikarian I have random chibi train mechs to enjoy for a different kind of insanity.
