It sounds like you're a true fan. There are definitely a lot of homages to him in other works which is really something. I read this short story in a Steampunk anthology where the writer of the story falls into a story from the Lovecraft mythos in his dreams and meets Lovecraft himself. The story felt out of place in the anthology but really emphasized to me how influential he has been across many genres that didn't even exist in his day. The themes he explored are intriguing and it makes me sad that he excelled further in death than in life. Have you seen any clips from the Call of Cthulhu game? I'm intrigued by what I have seen though dubious about whether it is actually good or just riding off internet culture. Ps. Happy Halloween for tomorrow.
