azumakazuma @azumakazuma A wise man once said: "with great power comes great responsibilities" - Uncle Ben
azumakazuma
azumakazuma @azumakazuma I don't know if I am ready for that.
maydragon
Maya @maydragon Too bad, too late!
azumakazuma
azumakazuma @azumakazuma I'm sure that there is some JavaScript command that can be used to do it better...
azumakazuma
azumakazuma @azumakazuma I'll look into it tomorrow~
maydragon
Maya @maydragon I'm confused now-
azumakazuma
azumakazuma @azumakazuma Autoclicker works to an extent, but to make the javascript commands work, I would need to know more about it. Probably some variable and function names as well. Don't worry about it too much. The more reliable way is the one that I sent you earlier~

azumakazuma @azumakazuma Pen and paper RPG's are cool, regardless of how you overcome an event, you still get all or most of the credit for it. Say, a band of thieves come to steal your things, if you talk it out with them and get them to rethink their lives and be politicians or something, it is the same as fighting and defeating them; Especially if you convince them to throw down their weapons and gear upon realizing their new path on life.
maydragon
Maya @maydragon You can do that in paper RPG?
azumakazuma
azumakazuma @azumakazuma What you just went through was an example. Now imagine it with more rules and guidelines, as well as your own character that you spent time creating just the way you like it. Success rates are decided by rolling dice and adding various bonuses you have from your character and equipment.
azumakazuma
azumakazuma @azumakazuma "Pen and paper RPG" is a role playing game where nothing is managed by automated processes like how they are in video games. It is a more story-based style of choose-your-own adventure.
maydragon
Maya @maydragon Ah, you told me about this one time. I'm curious to try it at least once now!
azumakazuma
azumakazuma @azumakazuma If you want to convince someone of something, it is your Wisdom and Charisma VS their Will and the ridiculousness of the subject. If I'm standing right in front of you, it would be a lot harder to convince you that I was blue than it would be to convince you that the rock that I hold in my hand was once used as a paperweight by royalty. (and is thus worth something)
azumakazuma
azumakazuma @azumakazuma Haha, good to hear. I'm sure that could be arranged someday. It can take a lot of time though, so keep that in mind.
maydragon
Maya @maydragon I know thus I said "one time," not specifying time~

I thank the Gazebo with a respectful bow for being able to use it improperly and I'm on my way~

This is why I like Role-playing games: The Tale of Eric and the Dread Gazebo by Richard Aronson In the early seventies, Ed Whitchurch ran "his game," and one of the participants was Eric Sorenson. Eric plays something like a computer. When he games he methodically considers each possibility before choosing his preferred option. If given time, he will invariably pick the optimal solution. It has been known to take weeks. He is otherwise, in all respects, a superior gamer. Eric was playing a Neutral Paladin in Ed's game. He was on some lord's lands when the following exchange occurred: ED: You see a well groomed garden. In the middle, on a small hill, you see a gazebo. ERIC: A gazebo? What color is it? ED: (Pause) It's white, Eric. ERIC: How far away is it? ED: About 50 yards. ERIC: How big is it? ED: (Pause) It's about 30 ft across, 15 ft high, with a pointed top. ERIC: I use my sword to detect good on it. ED: It's not good, Eric. It's a gazebo. ERIC: (Pause) I call out to it. ED: It won't answer. It's a gazebo. ERIC: (Pause) I sheathe my sword and draw my bow and arrows. Does it respond in any way? ED: No, Eric, it's a gazebo! ERIC: I shoot it with my bow (roll to hit). What happened? ED: There is now a gazebo with an arrow sticking out of it. ERIC: (Pause) Wasn't it wounded? ED: OF COURSE NOT, ERIC! IT'S A GAZEBO! ERIC: (Whimper) But that was a +3 arrow! ED: It's a gazebo, Eric, a GAZEBO! If you really want to try to destroy it, you could try to chop it with an axe, I suppose, or you could try to burn it, but I don't know why anybody would even try. It's a @#$%!! gazebo! ERIC: (Long pause. He has no axe or fire spells.) I run away. ED: (Thoroughly frustrated) It's too late. You've awakened the gazebo. It catches you and eats you. ERIC: (Reaching for his dice) Maybe I'll roll up a fire-using mage so I can avenge my Paladin. At this point, the increasingly amused fellow party members restored a modicum of order by explaining to Eric what a gazebo is. Thus ends the tale of Eric and the Dread Gazebo. It could have been worse; at least the gazebo wasn't on a grassy gnoll.

Maya @maydragon What is gazebo?
