@hell_hound7 Normally I would agree with you about the shotgun, but the problem is there are two issues. First is loadout. Shotgun shells are generally large and heavy. You run into the issue of having enough ammunition. Second is range. You can probably get solid effective range out to about 50m before the shotgun really loses it's advantages. Which gives you precious little time to react to a zombie horde in finding an escape route or fighting them off in time. If you are clearing out a building for use as a base, the shotgun has no equal and is ideal. Saiga 12 or a USAS-12 are the best bet for this. Just make sure you have a full load shell. Many birdshot rounds don't have enough power to cycle the bolt properly and you end up having to manually cycle the bolt which would be a nightmare.
