The value of my property was recently reevaluated for taxes this year and it jumped from 140 thousand to now 220 thousand. Honestly I think they're doing that only because a new house was built across from mine in the middle of a literal swamp for $500,000. I mean it's smaller than mine and has less yard plus the land for years wasn't used for housing since the soil is super soft and easily floods when it rains. Whatever wealthy person that buys this expensive shack in the swamp across from me is going to have an interesting experience maintaining their property to say the least.
