Last week we alerted you to the Lubbock-Con fan convention that is being hosted in Lubbock in February of 2016. Turns out another convention is also coming to Lubbock, this August. Hub City Comic Con will be in at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center on Aug. 28th – 30th, of this year. The convention will be using the entire exhibit hall. The convention is being hosted by SilverPoint LLC, which successfully held a convention in Odessa this past March. Jake Lloyd (Anakin in Star Wars: The Phantom Menace), Nakia Burrise, (the Yellow Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo/Turbo), Catherine Sutherland (the Pink Ranger in Power Rangers: Mighty Morphin, Zeo, and Turbo), and Sam de la Rosa (artist for Marvel and Disney, and best known for Spider-Man and Venom) have all been announced as attending. According to the convention coordinator other guests are planned. The convention will also host an official Playstation sanctioned tournament. Comic and toy vendor are expected to have wares, while artists and authors are expected to have their own materials for sell as well. Cost for the convention is $20, with a $5 fee for Civic Center use. The $20 dollar cost gets the attendee admission to the convention on both Saturday and Sunday. Access for Friday requires a VIP pass that will be $100. Purchase of the VIP pass will also allow the attendee to enter the convention early on Saturday and Sunday. I don't remember if I ever posted in this forum, but hey everyone. I'm not too active on this site, but I've been off and on here lately. I figured I might as well make a few new friends on here. Other than anime, I'm really into music, movies, Japan... the usual, more or less. I recently moved back to the US from Japan, and I'm actually feeling a bit disconnected here, similar tot he first time I came back here. It would be nice to meet some people on here, especially more people who would eventually like keeping in touch outside of this site. Although this is a dating site, I don't know if I'm looking for anything serious right now, but I'm open minded. As a historian, my favorite subject in Modern History is World War II. Most young people associate the war with the Holocaust and the famous battles, but I've been reading articles and watching videos that offer multiple perspectives. I saw a video on Crash Course World History about how the war was about resources for both the Germans and the Japanese. The War affected life for most people in the world in some way. So I got to thinking that I could create a thread where people could post interesting facts or perspectives of the war. I shall begin with a fact regarding one of my favorite vacation spots, Costa Rica. The urban legend of how Costa Rica was involved in the war involves a German submarine that was planning to launch attack a Costa Rican ship. Due to a fly affecting the radar, Costa Rica was spared from losing causalities. My guide told my group this, but quickly added "it never happened, but it remains a popular myth".

He's from the anime Aquarion Evol. I've posted a picture of him. I didn't earlier because I wasn't certain how too. Of course I enjoy it when many people want pictures and get a kick out of my cosplay but I would hope that at least maybe 5 people might recognize it haha. Trust me I know exactly what that's like. That was pretty much my first year cosplaying (At Dragon Con as The Doctor). The only person who ever asked for a picture was a woman who dressed her baby up as the same Doctor as me, which was kind of cool. I've had to do that a few times at AWA dressed as Fai from Tsubasa lol. Funny thing was that it wasn't all that complicated and it was at an anime con but it was a slightly older anime so I guess it's not too surprising. As you can see from the picture though it's not very complicated at all....or exactly that unique. Yes, I've met Sherflow in person. I was also at AmeChibi and may have seen Tylor...And another user told me he was at AmeChibi, but we didn't actually meet to my knowledge.
