^That's what happens when a person hates their life, hates their job, hates their life, hates themselves, hates their life, blames everyone else for their own problems, hates their life, and thinks getting some likes from people on the internet negates all of it and makes them important irl. They get obsessed with certain individuals cuz it makes them forget how truly miserable their lives are. And you're exactly right... if a person like that put the same level of dedication in improving themselves and crawling out of the shithole of their lives, they would find themselves much happier in life. edit: friggin baka budging ahead of me in line...

I confess that this should probably go in the unpopular opinion thread but I'm too lazy to find it. I feel like the higher-ups on this website don't exactly employ the best methods for deciding on who should be elevated above basic membership to help with the place grow and stay together. I've asked around in private and a handful of people seem to agree that it probably would do better to pick people who are longstanding members in the community and who are at least semi to fairly active public forums so they are more likely to understand what goes on day today and to understand the habits and personalities of more of the members. Yet instead it seems it's a much more lacks and random system when it comes to appointing new people, some people I've never even heard of as well as other people not having heard of Mostly because they are either fairly new at the time of being appointed or it feels that way or they are pretty much private message only people which isn't something that probably helps the community because you need someone who is more than willing to socialize which is a very much needed skill amongst this group as well as a leadership position in general.

I confess that I just remembered another thing that I'm too lazy to find that proper thread for. I also find it a little ironic at least from my perspective with a lot of complaints and talk of trying to tackle bad behavior such as trolls on this community when we more or less in the last couple months have kind of encouraged it with our own behavior towards such actions depending on whether or not it came from a well known person in the community. What I mean by that is that we allow some members who will not go named to act toxically towards others and not take steps to punish or even warn such members until about three violations in. On top of that even the Administration has publicly said that because of the age group that normally visits this website or should be the only age group to visit this website that we should basically just act like adults and not get offended at things that are meant as jokes. That I would agree with except for the part where a small handful of active members do not make it very clear at all that they are joking and sometimes they know that they aren't being completely clear and they enjoy seeing people's reactions and then cover it up by saying it's a joke. There's a member on here who uses a word jokingly they say sometimes but it just so happens to be the exact same word that they have used many times specifically to insult and Beatdown another member. How can we really expect to combat trolls and such when we basically encourage it by not enforcing the people who are already here who are basically trolling others and we allow it with the phrase of they say they're joking, you're just getting too easily worked up too quickly. I know it happens sometimes but just because someone doesn't mean something negatively doesn't mean it's the person's fault who took offense for taking it incorrectly. It may be their fault for not changing the way they said it despite people continuing to get offended at their jokes.
