Never said best. I use fresh bread, but I can see the benefit of stale, I just don't trust that mold won't be on it. Of course, just leave the bread out over a day or two and it will just get stale. People did that because it was a way to use what otherwise might not be eaten.

1 loaf challah, sliced and left out to dry 1 1⁄2 cups whole milk or 1 1⁄2 cups half-and-half 6 large eggs 1 pinch salt, to taste 1 tablespoon honey 1⁄2 teaspoon grated orange zest, to taste 1⁄2 teaspoon vanilla butter (for frying) oil (for frying) Stale is just more dry. Think a dry sponge. DIRECTIONS In a shallow dish large enough to hold three slices of challah side by side, whisk eggs and milk. Add orange zest, honey and vanilla. Add salt. Place three slices of the bread in the egg mixture and let soak about three minutes each side. Meanwhile melt one tbsp of butter and oil each in a large frying pan. Transfer challah to pan and cook 3 minutes on each side or until nicely browned. Add a little more butter for each round of bread. Not my recipe. See? Interwebs has all answers. Also, margarine is the same ratio, but margarine is basically vegetable oil. Butter always tastes better, screw being healthy XD

Just saying. I like discussing, but usually I just Google, try the recipe and figure out if I'd do it again. Cooking isn't that complicated, but over thinking is.

i confess i had a shitty experience with police before because my sister is how she is wev had the cops called more times then i can remember once when i was coming home from school in middle school the police were on our lawn and i walked up asking what was going on, and this big officer put his hand out and said roughly and loudly "stand where you are" i was in fucking middle school and that freaked me the fuck out, like i was a kid and hes acting like im some 6 foot adult and no, it wasnt some major crime scene, just a domestic violence call so theres no reason why he would treat a kid like that
