long distance relationships

Ugh, yeah, that's the thing--you really have to trust each other (and be worthy of that trust), because you're spending almost all of your time physically apart.

What Jineko said. It's not really the distance, but with the person. I just got out of a long distance relationship myself a few months ago, still hurts like hell but yeah. She wasn't mentality ready for a big commitment, to young I guess.

Well, as you've probably figured out, it takes people that can deal with long distance relationships to make them work. Some people just aren't the long distance types. Also, before entering a relationship, both sides have to be aware of the fact that eventually someone will have to relocate: it will not remain long distance forever. Anyways, I'm in a long distance relationship right now with a guy from this site. He is coming for a visit next month and I am going by him the following month. He lives in Maryland, I in Wisconsin. I plan on going to college out there, though, so that is how it won't remain long distance forever. That is how you have to go into things: with a plan. Long distance doesn't work to well if you are one of those "go with the flow, no plans" people.

I feel long distances can work with trust and good communication, and i mean communication not calling all the time at all hours knowing what the person is doing or who they are with just talking about topics and the day, and making a commitment to visit. That visit is also the glue that binds.
