Majority of girls don't like dating guys in/going into the armed forces?

Or, its because men in the military/navy have a stigma of being jackasses. I personally will never date anyone in the military, why? Because i don't believe in this bull crap of "protecting your country" What are you protecting? A piece of land

My boyfriend is a junior in college in Army ROTC, so he is being officially commissioned this year. I don't mind either way if someone is in the military. Its not a requirement or a deal breaker. Then again, I'm most likely going into the military, also ROTC, to pay for college... plus I want to do intel...

I would actually see more financial security in having a spouse in the military. I wouldn't mean a girlfriend, but someone whom I was married to and had children. The hardest part of being a service personnel in a relationship is fidelity. I don't know if they still continue with the Jody cadence calls, but it has a substantial truth to it. I wouldn't say chicks don't dig guys in a uniform, the marines formal dress uniform is fucking sexy. On top of that, most people in the military are conditioned to stand straight up with excellent posture. Not to mentioned during the service they train you not to be a slob. I recall working as an usher during a country concert, where I saw three invited servicemen in full dress uniform. Those uniforms accompanied with the gait and posture can make a 6 foot man appear 8 feet tall, they looked as princes. I see the military as either making people upstanding, bachelor material, or a sad, foul mouth, misunderstood person.

Im former Marine. Women tend to dislike military members because most of the men in armed forces E-1 through E-4 are single and just want to get laid. When I was in iraq my ex cheated on me so i always encourage people serving to wait until they get out. We also have the stigma that we are players and are mean jerks. It's a double edged sword. I have a very difficult time finding women and they tend to scatter when I mention I was in the Marines.

@Michael, yeah, there does tend to be that stigma :/ i tend not to judge people until I know them, though. I think its awful that people judge others just based on the fact that they are/were in the military...

Just with everything don't rush into it. Sigh. I know a couple guys who got married right before they left. Not many good things happened while they were gone. Elizibeth - your words are something I hate to hear from another of the same country but that is how some people believe and its ur right.

... I have personal experiences with multiple male friends that were in the military of some form, and they're all a shade of bonkers that us womenfolk aren't fond of. There are only two of my male friends that are ex military and are okay. As friends. As anything else, they're not my type. Uniforms aren't my deal. They don't get me going. But there are women that find it a plus. But if I look at it from a different perspective, women SHOULD like military men, I mean besides the constant moving around and time apart, you get awesome medical benefits, housing, deals on like everything, GI bill for school. But that's all monetary stuff. You like what you like. *shrug* Sorry if this wasn't helpful.

Plus you gotta remember if things go really well and you try to start a family while someone is serving. That person in the house with the kid will have a hard time taking care of things because you are never around as much as you want to be. Plus the kid will grow up without a Mom/Father figure to guide them at key moments, blah blah blah.

oooo man you got it rough yeah we women don't like to wait years along or just to see u on shype dates besides it be far too easy for the dude to cheat on the girl and the girl would never know unless u come back with a pregnant chinese bitch then of course its over (happen to my friend it was fucked up she waited for his ass too and never cheated but he sure did the fucking bastard) after that she didnt care if he die in the war ^___^ sooo good luck i wouldn't do it though too many cheating ways and if she did wait and he die heh worst than a broken heart right there pain on top of pain no way count me out!!!:) good luck though.peace.
