Pokemon: Game-based anime

xcution
For anyone who may be interested, Nintendo has announced that an original anime based on Pokemon Versions Red and Green (or Red and Blue, for English speakers) will be premiering in the Fall anime season of 2013. The trailer shows Red and Green (or Blue, if you prefer, whose design Gary Oak of the more well-known anime was based upon) animated alongside others like Brock, Blastoise, Charmander and several others. So how excited are you guys, if you are at all? Speaking personally, I lost interest in the main stream anime a LONG time ago and I've always preferred the Pokemon Adventures manga (or "Pokemon Special, if you prefer) a great deal to it and I've thought an adaption of it would be awesome. Though this isn't an adaption of that, a Pokemon anime which follows the games more closely than the anime interest me a lot, even if it's just (from the looks of it) Generation One. Generations after it have provided their own advantages and disadvantages but I think Generation One will always have its fans. Though I don't like the whole "There're only 151 Pokemon" types of people >_> Anyways, I'm interested in hearing what you guys think. Are you interested? Not interested? Gonna wait for some reviews before checking it out? Comment away! Btw, I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links, so if someone could tell me, that'd be much appreciated. I didn't post any here since I wasn't sure if it was cool but I think you guys can just Google the stuff if you are interested.

It looks good, so I hope it's good, certainly will be a nostalgia trip back in the day playing Red with my Charmander. The adventures of Ash Ketchup, I mean Ketchum is like the Scooby-Do of anime. It's for kids and never evolves beyond that in fear that it will not be successful. I felt like I grew out of it, so I hope the new direction can appeal to me again.

Indeed. It's among the Fall 2013 anime I'm most looking forward to. And I love how you (quote accurately) described the original anime as Scooby-Doo. Well done.

Thank you. The fear of changing could be pointed toward a good show like Ben 10, when it "grew up" it wasn't as successful. Though one could say it did it in the wrong places, but that could be just me. Though oddly enough, DBZ and Naruto grew up and are a couple of the longest running franchises.

if it's anything like adventure i'm sure going to watch it. i've been watching the newer episodes of the original anime and it's so childish now.

Doesn't seem to be based on adventure but it does seem similar in concept.

I am very intrigued with how this anime will turn out. An anime based on Red/Green(Blue) sounds pretty nice.

if they follow the actual game storyline I'm going to be exited. The pokemon in this new series actually look like fighters and I sense in the preview that they actually seem like pocket monsters rather than the pokemon that say there names over and over again in a super kawaii way. Don't get me wrong the Ashs series was cute and humerous. This anime looks like it will bring the intense feeling you get when you have your game boy in your hand to life with amazing animation. Also, i hope the main charecter actually beats the elite 4 like in the games. be so awesome. Ash seems to be doing nothing nowadays. I mean does he even want to be a pokemon master or what? Seems recently all he is is a traveling folk person telling his stories to random people. Did he give up on his dreams?

I remember so long ago when I used to watch the anime before school in the mornings while eating cereal. I prefer having a story that actually leads somewhere instead of an endless cycle of events. This seems like it might be good enough to temporarily pull me back into the world of Pokemon.
