Oreimo Finale

WOW! I can't believe it! I loved the anime finale. I've yet to read the novels or manga however I have an idea how they both end.
I think the finale was rather appropriate. The anime touched on numerous themes like: incestuous forbidden love, negative sigma about otakus, eroge, Lolita-complex, homosexuality, and many more. Both sides of the arguments are presented well and fairly; it's good to know both Kirino and Kyousuke acknowledge what they're doing is wrong. They only celebrated the fact that they loved each other and kept it short lived.
In my opinion I really wanted Kyousuke to be with Kuroneko (Ruri)!
I kinda thought it was odd Kyousuke had a hell of a lot of love confessions. He got game yo!

I wanted to watch this at Otakon 2013 but i poorly planned my time since it was my first otakon. still had a great time those 3 days. I've read the spoilers about this ending online. I'll probably watch this later today

I watched the last three episodes the other day and I HATED THEM. I felt like the who sequence was one huge cop out just to create an ending that the siscons wanted. I'm still baffled by Kyosuke's sudden revelation that he was in love with his sister, as it didn't make sense to me. (no where near as coherent as the relationship in Koi Kaze) It all felt unintentionally satire to me and I found myself sharing the same feelings as Manami and Kuroneko (who was my favorite character...so I was crying with her the whole time..) during their respective outbursts. I felt kind of dumb for defending this show too. For the longest time, I kept saying "this show doesn't have incest and in some ways, it's very sweet and endearing". This feels like a big slap in the face. =/ *deep breath* Okay. Rage over. -_- Despite the last three episodes, I don't regret watching Oriemo and I think the great moments in the show still hold up. All those times Kyosuke bent over backwards to make Kirino happy and help her through all her struggles of being a closet otaku (despite her ungratefulness and constantly treating her older brother like dirt) were actually really admirable and inspiring. In essence, this is a show about two estranged siblings that grow closer. Kyosuke's actions throughout the series (not counting the OVAs) show that, despite how they couldn't get along, they're still family and the big brother will still be there for his little sister no matter what. I was more astonished when Kirino supported Kyosuke when he was devastated about Kuroneko breaking up with him. As an older brother of 5 younger siblings myself, I still love those moments and the development of the relationship between Kirino and Kyousuke. Too bad it went too far... Btw, KURONEKO FOR THE WIN :D I'll be reading the spinoff manga. XD

Haha well maybe but since I read the light novel it all makes sense and yes it felt rush to jam all that into three ovas But anyways I was rooting for kuroneko but I'm a fan of kanako

I haven't read the light novels but you may be right. One of my friends was telling me the same thing, so we both decided to blame the OVAs on poor directing. lol Kanako was cute. She was the one who got the Stardust Witch Meruru song stuck in my head. XD How much of a role did she play in the LN? I ask this becuase I felt like she was just there in the anime, compared to the other girls. I was a Kuroneko fan, with Ayase at a close second. ^_^

Well I'm still a kuroxkyoufan but I like kanako to be my waifu And she has more story time on the light novel but yes I really would like to get my hands on the manga spin off but haven't been able yet

"I watched the last three episodes the other day and I HATED THEM. I felt like the who sequence was one huge cop out just to create an ending that the siscons wanted." This exactly. Fans of Oreimo's canon ending are welcome to it. I'll be off in this corner looking for KyouKuro fic. XD

I wish they would have went with someone else or did the Kirino ending without that promise they made. All or nothing. Oh well, still enjoyed the trip and love all of it.

Haha well I guess it's because the anime left out a lot of details

Just watched the last three ovas. I agree with wallace about kuroneko accepting the rejection. BUT STILL KURONEKO IS STILL MY WAIFU. (´_`。)
