Oreimo Finale

It kind of killed the series for me. I have a younger sister myself, so I liked Oreimo because it taught that a brother and sister can have a loving relationship without it being creepy. The end of the first OVA definitively smashed that view to pieces. A man is supposed to love their sister and watch over them, not fall in love with their sister and be one of the weirdoes that they need to be protected from. When I was explaining the anime to someone beforehand and they thought it sounded like some weirdo pervert anime, I defended it saying that the anime was not exactly what those OVAs turned it into. While I will try and read the entire series of light novels at some point to see if that does make it any better, I did manage to find a translation of book one. In it, Kyousuke clearly states that situations that you normally would find hot are just seen as neutral when it's your sister. I believe he also mentioned that the only people who have sister complexes are those without sisters. I believed him and was holding him to it. And while Kuroneko was my favorite as well, let's face it, he had so many good choices and he went with the one that couldn't work, messing up all his plausible options in the process. And if all these reasons weren't enough to make me condemn the OVAs, they made it worse by nullifying the main plot development of the three episodes. When they got done playing, I turned to my friend who had been watching them with me and asked, "did we just get punk'd?" Super damn it, everyone went in, anxious to see who he would choose and they give us, "the one you were really hoping it wasn't, only not really, but all his other chances are still messed up lololololololol". Maybe I'm being too critical and if anyone has any arguments against, please state them as I would love to go back to enjoying this series, but this really ruined my enthusiasm for Oreimo, and based on my conversations, I can say I'm not the only one.

What's so wrong about incest man

as far as the OVA finale is concerned I liked it up until the part where they broke it off. knowing it would end soon he still rejected all those girls and with the exception of maybe minami and kuroneko wont get that chance again. I think the point was to give it an "and so my crazy life continues" kind of ending, which annoyed the hell out of me. I would have liked it if they went a bit farther, like an epilogue where they live their lives and end up with someone. even a "thts why your aunti and me are so close" kind of ending would have been great. and as far as the sister complex goes. I think that mostly applies to an audience without sisters. im not saying it doesn't happen or that its wrong, I just doubt its on the mass level it seems from the anime.

From your question on the validity of incest, I'm going to assume that you don't have a sister. As I said before, it is the duty of older siblings to look out for the younger, especially when the younger ones are female. One of the three main reasons I keep my just in case crowbars is to deal with any who would harm my sister. When kids are young, it's perfectly acceptable and even cute for them to have a crush on an older relative, most commonly a sibling or parent, but as they branch out socially and expand their worldview, they grow out of it. For Kyousuke to date his younger sister seems like he's taking advantage of this innocent affection and in turn breaking his familial duty to protect her. It feels like a betrayal of trust, between him and both his sister and parents, which as an elder brother unnerves me.

the ending was like a lot of anime endings today, massively disappointing. I would have been happy if they had gotten married in the end, but no, "hehe it was all pretend back to living our normal lives oh wait friendzoned 3 girls and completely shut out another just so I could live out this fantasy". It's like the writers decided to make the most wishy-washy ending possible in order to piss the entire fanbase off.

@demongod I do have a sisters mmm I love them but we are just regular siblings but I still don't see what's wrong with it. If you love someone then what's so wrong about. That's just my personal opinion

I'll be honest, the ending was a disappointment for me,I loved the series it was really funny, but the last 3 ovas just sucked. Kyousuke went from being a good brother who tries to fix his relationship with his sister to a guy who want to create a relationship with his sister. I mean he saw her naked and said he didn't feel anything because they are siblings. The ovas completely ignored that. (My opinion is based on the anime only)
