Because its movie magic the only magic that doesn't need any science besides psuedoscience.

OH and I would love to go to a school that was a giant castle dedicated to molding the next generation into the best scientists in the country. There'd be all sorts of weird experiments going on ._. Pretty sure it wouldn't look very different from what Harry Potter universe would look like either...just...more high tech maybe? The curriculum would hardly look much different >.> still be a lot of chemistry and astronomy.
