It's a really good question though! Which pronoun is really describing them? Are they actually the living that are dead, or the dead that are living? Are they perhaps both? Or does living nullify being dead despite being dead? Vice versa? Maybe it's an order of operations question. Is it Living > Dead, or Dead > Living?
