Unless our usernames are strictly what we started with, @(whatever) won't work. It's too cumbersome to have to figure out whos username
"(^-^)/ Magic squiggles"
really is in order to @ them.

Jikoshy, I wasn't talking about threads/topics, I'm talking about posts in threads/topics. I don't know how much clearer I can make that. please don't talk to me like I'm new here, I know perfectly well what those stars are for.
You're right though that because a lot of people here tend to change usernames around it might make things a tad more tricky to implement, but I don't believe it's impossible to create something that noifies you whenever someone makes a post with "(^-^)/ Magic squiggles" in it, or whatever else you have your name set at. If they change their name then they would stop getting new notifications about their old name, or alternatively we could each have a short list of a few names/words that when used would notify us. Although that second option would possibly make a bit of a mess of the database.

People can change their display names but their account name always stays the same.

donnie, I think the issue is people in the forums tend to reply to each other using display names rather than account names. Of course a reply/quote button would probably fix that.

Neet, it wasn't my intentions to have you feel that way, so my apologies.
I do like the quote post idea though.

So... the search function still isn't working for me, and it's exactly eight months since I last posted about this. It still hasn't been fixed.
When I search for someone in Oregon it finds people "near me" in completely different states-- it's always, for some reason, Utah, Indiana and Colorado. It doesn't list one single person in Oregon. I suppose it's possible that there are no females from Oregon (I checked every age range) but it should put the next closest state as Washington in that case, not a state that's clear on the other side of the country.
I'm really surprised that this hasn't been fixed yet or even moderately addressed. Really, what use is a dating website if you can't even search for people in your own state? What's the point?

I would like to suggest a possible chatroom, where members can join and chat to each other using IM, doesn't have to be fancy, anything would do, the unofficial Maiotaku skype group is absolutely abandoned XD

Yo! Ive been trying to upload a topic to the creative writing section but each time Ive tried, its not posted. Im thinking that it might be because if the length of the post thats causing it (Its like 8 pages on Word) but im not sure...

You might want to unsticky all those 2014 cons in the Conventions/Meetup section of the forum. Most haven't been posted in over a year and it would be nicer for upcoming events to be discussed that aren't buried halfway down the page because of it.
