@akihisayoshii18: I finished episode 17. And I was referring to enemies in my post.

It's pretty damn good, definitely one of the better shows from this season and the last. But I do feel like it's being a bit overhyped. I suppose if I liked grimdark more I might be more obsessed with it.

I'm on the best sh*t ever side. Ever since the first time I heard the intro I knew I would love it

It's great shit. I love it I admit it. I enjoy joining in and liking it with other people who are like. "I love this shooooww" I dont really think its that overrated. Its pretty original and even though its not Lord of the Rings amazing I love to watch every episode I cant deny that.

I'm on ep2 and don't really feel like continuing... How much better does it get? Cause I can't stand erens constant bitching. Mikasa does that shit though.

I've only watched the anime so far, but I'm actually fairly impressed with the show. One of the things that stands out the most for me is how well it does foreshadowing. They drop enough hints that you're able to get a vague idea of what's going on and give you the joy of trying to predict what will happen without flat-out needing to explain things to the audience slowly and painfully in long and boring exposition episodes. With a lot of anime these days, I can guess the whole plot of an episode or series five minutes in, due to how many clichés they use. Needing to, instead, constantly keep my eyes and ears pealed, trying to put the pieces together so that events are a mixture of surprise and validation is really refreshing. The other thing I like is how Eren is written. There are some scenes where he's a complete badass, but a lot of times, he strikes me as a Shonen hero in a Seinen world. He values people too much for the situation he's in. He believes in his friends and doesn't want to sacrifice anyone, which sets him apart from everyone else who realizes that sacrifices need to, and will be, made. He struggles with the fact that he needs to become colder in order to do what needs to be done and I look forward to seeing how he changes as a person going forward. To answer Ex's question, the start of the show was one of the struggling points for me. The synapsis pretty much tells you all you need to know about the first two episodes and the next two are the exception to the no tedious explanation thing I mentioned earlier, serving mainly to introduce characters and go over how tiny humans can fight against Titans. If you can hang in there until The Defense of Trost, I think it'll be worth it. Seeing Eren in action might be enough to change your opinion of him and if not, there are more characters who are worth watching besides him. If you do tough it out, let us know what you think. And to answer the initial question, while I wouldn't call it the greatest thing ever, I do think that AoT does deserve a lot of its hype. I'm with Akihisa on the fact that I really get into this show. I could probably write a whole paper on my thoughts concerning it but I don't really have the space here.

Was reading the manga way before anyone was in on it. Then after a horde of bandwagon hoppers decided to join in... i stopped reading it and watching it altogether :P
