Q for girls: Does and Don'ts of Guy's Otaku Room

i think pervy stuff (ecchi/hentai). i'm a bit (a bit, okay!) conservative, but even if i'm not i guess those things are still a bit "off". you know, it'll look like the guy is having lewd fascinations etc., etc. ,... my point here is it's okay to have (and do) ecchi/hentai stuff but don't show it to others... not at a time when both of you are still not comfortable with each other. hope this helps (:

I don't care much about the nc-17 stuff. Women watch that too after all lol, but it's prudent to err on the side of caution.

Speaking from personal experience. Usually girls (not all of them) are turned away by female figures. Usually the fanservice ones. Some are also turned off by a collection of Mahou Shoujo goods. People might think you're a lolicon or something. Dakimakuras are also a turn-off. Kinda in the same way that usually guys are turned away by them when they are of Male characters.

Personally for me its keeping your room clean and keeping it funk free from any smells. If a girl is coming over I want to make sure I do a good impression and make things comfortable.

Sometimes I feel out of place not having an otaku room :I

At a con this past year, I actually found an undressable Bible Black figure. While I'm not a huge fan of that particular hentai, it struck me as hilarious enough that I picked one up. At some point, I'd like to display it just to see what kind of reactions I can get. I also have a small collection of dakimakuras for much the same purpose. Such things might be off-putting to some, but if a girl can't understand and tolerate my odd sense of humor, it'd be difficult just being friends, much less anything beyond.
