I think there's a definite distinction to be made between clutter and mess, to pick two arbitrary terms. Clutter in the sense of stuff being disorganized or left out--guilty as charged. I tend to have an inch-thick pile of Lego parts on my desk at any given time, and elements of one craft project or another all over the place. Sort of comes with the whole artist/writer territory. He said, making excuses. XD
But unsanitary mess, like leaving food out or overflowing trash cans or a litter box that hasn't been changed in a month... ew. Brings back unpleasant memories of past roommates.

Ohhhh man, tell me about it.
I throw dishes in the washer on the fly as I use them and do have a trashcan in my bathroom and even my closet. Some good points for me? lol.
My roommate definitely needs House Keeping 101 though.

Umm, well i guess like loli stuff, or figures at all...
i personally wouldn't like a guy having what i consider the Japanese equivalent (I know it really isn't but this is my view) of a barbie dolls in his room

@mendermind1 there's a difference between liking someone, and refusing to go anywhere near where they live. I have a friend that when we hang out, I'll pull up to their house and wait outside because their house interior terrifies me. Doesn't mean I like them any less, I just don't want to spend time there.

I wouldn't mind figurines as long as they aren't in weird sexual positions

Honestly; I don't think there is a problem with having provocative posters of anime around a guys room. If you're dating them obviously its you they're interested in after all they are dating you. I'm sure about 99% of them realize that anime is just a fantasy and obviously its not real so as long as you still get your time together and time for your hobbies, I honestly don't see a problem with it. Heck I'd probably even buy an ecchi poster for my boyfriend for a gift haha (:
