I found simple dates to work best.
Movie dates are a no. Some one already explained why.
From my personal experience, first dates would be to take them out for tea or cofffe because you are in an enviroment that isn't crowded but still have some people aswell. It also gives that person a sense of security and comfort, just in case something goes wrong you guys arent by yourself and other people are there as witness.
On a first date you want to try to talk and get to know each other as much as you can. If you say something weird or vice versa its okay. ThaThat's what dates are for.to see if the person you are with is compatable with you and has no problem in your likings
After we have had enough of sitting or talking i would usually go to barnes and nobel, that gives me a opportunity to analyze what she likes or dislikes reading or seeing.
If B&N isn't your thing then take that person to a anime shop/comic book store or an arts and crafts store, close to you or that person. If there isn't one close look one up and ask if that person would like to go to that location.. That also gives you a good sense of who that person is if they agree then it might mean they enjoy going/traveling places. It also opens up more doors for conversation seeing what anime that person likes then you can start a convo on that you get the idea.
This doesn't have to be in that order you can start out by going out first and then finally getting something to eat or drink and end the day with talking to each other.
I am sure I left out a ton of information but i help this helps even a little!
I am no expert but maybe this could give someone a better idea of what to do.
Safe dating!

roller disco! it's pretty fun. usually it's just a few old people grooving, so it's kinda quiet lol but it's a good way to talk and get to know each other and keep each other from falling xD
i mean there's ice skating too, but you know... roller disco! xDD

Barnes & Nobles first to check out the manga, then at lunch time find a good place to eat to hang out & talk, then walk around and explore around at other stores before getting a sweet afternoon treat like ice cream.

Hmm Big Bang Theory is hilarious lol. Just for a walk in the park and talking to each other should suffice or maybe a swim at a pool or lake.
