Anyone here planning on getting the PS4 once released?

I think every Playstation I've gotten was once it got its first price drop That way there's a bigger library of games to choose from I might have sunk cash into it right off the back if it were backwards compatible but it looks like that isn't happening

Oh... I see your disappointed at the backwards compatible plan also.

I barely got to play my PS3 (mostly due to college). I'm not sure if I'm ready for the 4th one. I love that my PS3 is one of the hardware based backwards compatibility ones.

It's too soon to say anything for the PS4. There's too little information out there right now. Even during the conference, all Cerny said was that there'd be an 8-core x86 processor, 8GB of GDDR5 RAM, and a secondary background CPU. We don't know what core will be in there exactly, what kind of graphics will be there, nor anything else. Backwards compatibility through the cloud was mentioned, and that is interesting to hear about. There's no way it could have the hardware to be physically backwards compatible though. Would cost waaayyy too much. If the cloud gaming works, then that can be a viable alternative. I myself will wait and see what other details come out about the PS4. At the very least, I know I wouldn't get it for a crap game like Diablo 3.

Well, we won't know anything yet, but if I was a betting man, the cpu's they pick out will be power-light, which will mean not much of a heat load on the system overall. In all likelihood, the graphics card will be the most power-consuming piece of tech in it. The heat sinks will be custom built for the ps4 anyways, so I'm sure it'll fit in and provide more than enough cooling. for the 360, I remember part of it being the thermal compound used, and how it was applied on the cpu's.

I will hopefully get it at some point, but it would be a while after it comes out. Backwards compatibility would be awesome, but Sony learn with ps3 it is not always cost effective
