Fangirling/Jealously

I just wanted to see how everyone else views this. Say you're a fangirl/fanboy and you're in a relationship and you're significant other gets made over an anime character, claiming you're cheating on them. ._. Or even the other way around on the views, would you mind if you're boy/girlfriend was fanboy/girl? I understand if it's like a overly obsessive and CONSTANLY talks about them, wants them more than their relationship, but a small anime fangirl crush?

We all have that one(or more) thing we are a fanboy/girl of, nothing wrong with that. i find having a small anime crush rather cute and harmless, it is perfectly natural. I think if they were totally obessed and it seemed like they ejoyed the character more than me i would talk with them about it. If my significant other believed i was "cheating" on them with an anime character i would rather puzzled as to why. i have some anime crushes, like i said, it is perfectly natural.

My ex used to say "You like those anime chicks better than me" jokingly. The one time I got her to stop making fun of me, my response was "Don't tell me you wouldn't jump Bruce Campbell if given a chance" (she's a Bruce nut). The reality is, there's no chance of it happening, so having an anime crush, or whatever kind of crush, is perfectly harmless. I don't care if somebody I'm with has a celebrity/anime/whatever crush, because I wouldn't be with them if I didn't trust them. Everything else is just fantasy, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Yea I agree with Tobi. Everyone has their little fantasies. Unless it starts hurting the relationship there really is no harm.

Unless the anime character somehow manifested itself into reality, I think I would just be amused... then if it happened, I'd be dead from having an exploded brain due to awesomeness.

when in doubt...put yourself in the other persons shoes. if your significant was doing the same thing to you, how would you feel? on a side note...i think cosplaying as the character for a night or two would help. also to make sure both parties understand that its just a cartoon lol

Well uhm....I don't get jealous like that but unless that character walked into my house and kissed Me THEN he could have a problem. But seriously? But I could understand if it was totally super obsessive posters all over your wall, body pillows, etc

Exactly. >_> EXACTLY MY POINT. I have an anime crush on Kakashi. It's not that big of a deal. If guy can talk about Megan Fox constantly, Kakashi shouldn't be a problem.
