So who in here works out?

bellableubelle
It usually depends on the day for me. I squat 245lbs (4 sets of 10) I do rows (3 sets of ten) Hammer curls (3 sets of ten) I flat bench and incline bench both about 100lbs (3 sets of ten) I can do about 70lbs on decline (3 sets of ten) I do flys (3 sets of ten) I do leg lifts (3 sets of 50) Sit ups (10 sets of 20) Teacups with a 60lb weight (3 sets of 20) I do back extensions (3 sets of 10) Leg extensions (3 sets of ten) thigh press (5 sets of 20) shoulder press (3 sets of 15) and much much more depending upon the day. I spend like 2 hours in the gym everyday and I also run on the treadmill and use olipticals and do cardio workouts when I get home.

I don't even know where the gym in my part of town is. O.o I just run and swim a lot cos I like it. Maybe I should start working out. Any advice for a skinny guy who has never lifted anything heavy in his life?

I work out 5 days a week, Monday through Friday. Mondays are chest and triceps. Wednesdays are legs and shoulders. Fridays are back and biceps. Tuesdays and Thursdays are straight up cardio days. 45 minutes on the cross trainer, followed by hanging knee lifts, then side crunches and back extensions on the back extension bench. All that's done at the gym. Every day, when I come home from there, I finish off with yoga. The type I stick with is DDP Yoga (yes, from Diamond Dallas Page). I'm working on my core, so for now, the yoga routine I'm sticking with is called Red Hot Core. I've been going to the gym since the end of December. I've been working out to get myself back into shape since September. I've lost 13 pounds so far, and I'm aiming to lose another 25, at the least. I actually know a lot about working out and eating habits from researching and finding what best fits me. So if people need help, feel free to ask. @samxdash running and swimming are very good. Keep doing that. for weight lifting, just start off small, and work your way up. I'd say for you, maybe start off at 30 pounds. Do 10 reps per set, 3 sets per workout. You should lift weights so that you have a hard time doing them, but not too hard. They shouldn't be light where you can blast through them like nothing, but not too heavy where you can't complete your set at all. Also up your protein intake, as that'll help you grow muscle, if that's what you're looking to gain out of it.

@samxdash Swimming will definitely help. That's how I got started way back when. I'd go out every other night from 12 - 3am for a 20 minute swim with a work-out routine. When it got cold out, I started using free weights to keep in shape. They're easier to use than those big weight machines and more convenient in my opinion. I'll turn the tv on and just start doing my routine in my room. Be sure to take it slow the first two days because you'll make yourself feel sick if your body isn't used to it. Also don't get discouraged if you miss a day or two of exercise, because it'll happen. You'll have a bad day or just won't be feeling too well. Just pick it up again as soon as you can and keep going with it. Drink a lot of water and taking in protein and amino acids helps.

I'm into workin' out. I try to exercise at least 1hr a day doing cardio. When I do weight lifting I rest the next day but still do cardio. I climbing the stair way to heaven. I always do at least 30mins on it and average over 75 floors. Like doing the elliptical; spend an 1hr on it at least.
I play Dance Dance Revolution at least 4 times a week for an hour and do no less than 600 calories each time. (After my move I found out my metal pads still work even though some acrylic panels needs to be replaced.)
I like to do boxing but I dunno if I can do that in my apartment. Might ask my old man if I can hang up my bag at the house and box there. I also bike ride but I'm still new to the area so I haven't found a bicycle path or route to do. When I'm not in the gym I like to do free weights, lunges, push-ups, and sit-ups. Hopefully I'll be lookin' a lot sexy by summer time. ^_^ Once it gets warmer I'm gonna start swimming too. I can't wait!

I workout 5 to 6 days a week, strictly heavylifting with alternating fast past cardio Monday-chest, shoulders, triceps ,abs Tuesday-back, biceps Wednesday-cardio, kickboxing/striking, abs Repeat thursday, friday, saturday Than month two, Monday-chest, biceps, abs Tuesday-back, legs, cardio Wednesday- shoulders, triceps, abs Repeat @samxdash- that depends on what look you would like to acheive, do you wonna bulk up, or simply ton out, always eat plenty of calories and protein, keep most calories pre workout and always take in your most protein roughly a half hour after your workout when your muscels can really absorb it, and always try to eat every 2 to 3 hours aday(i know its hard), otherwise your body goes into starvation mode and starts storing fat, diet is the MOST important part in trying to acheive any body change and its where most ppl fail, you can workout everyday of your life but if your not giving your body the right things you will never see big changes, As for reps, i do two sets MAX weight, talkin like 3 to 4 reps, than on the third one i take off about a third or fourth of the weight and go till i burn myself out, Taken alot on nutrition and im hoping to be a Certified Personal Trainer soon, so if anyone has any questions about the nutritional aspect or would like to talk about rutines or learn more feel free to ask
