i think it kind of possessive if taken literally. some girls like a man to be the dominating one in a relationship(MY girl!) and some don't. in a way it's like a warning to other suitors that you are taken. of course there is a negative side to this, but it all depends on how he means it. and how you take it.

-w- it makes me feel like a possession, and not in the good way. No matter what. My girlfriend isnt bad, but My Girl doesnt make me happy.

I'm kinda indifferent. I think some of it may depend on like the note of the relationship and like how he says it, etc.

It's good for a man to say "that's my woman or girl" because it shows people that he's really serious about his relationship. Also, to show that he's taken.

I gotta agree with ya brokenheart, i love saying "my girl" or things like that, i love letting everyone know when im with someone, but i usually use it ina playful sense, so i guess it really just depends on the text, some ppl might mean that in a unhealthy way

i'm not happy when a guy says something like "my girl". I was in an abusive relationship, and he always said that I was "HIS girl". also, I am a woman! I am a mother of 2 and I am the only one caring for them.

its alright once in awhile, if its just "my girl" and "my girl" then id question he knws my name =.= a relationship is about equality, u don't belong to him
