I have a friend who was raped and it has left her emotionally scared. She is afraid of the world and cannot cope with everyday normal life. She is afraid of rekationships for fear of being hurt and has trust issues for obvious reasons. I tried to help her but all I can do is comfort her offer support and advice. Anyone have other advice or feelings on this topic? Please help

That is so sad, None should have to go through what your friend did Tala-chan.. I'm really sorry to hear about that.. Personally, I'm not that skilled in the field though.. I browsed the web for something that can help you and I eventually found this list of Do's and Don't's. Don't Criticize Don't criticize a survivor of abuse for being where they were at the time, for not resisting more or screaming, for not talking about it earlier or for anything else. Anybody, anywhere, can be a victim of abuse, regardless of age, gender, looks, dress and so on. Regardless of circumstances "no" means "no," and nobody deserves to be raped. Please check it out, I feel like what says there will help you out.. Greatly respect you for trying to help your friend through this though.. http://www.healthyplace.com/abuse/articles/supporting-someone-who-has-been-raped-or-sexually-assaulted/ Its two pages of advice ^^

Many times women don't report rape cases because they think people won't believe her or even that people will say she did something to bring it upon herself. It's an incredibly terrible violation that happened to your friend, I would encourage her to seek professional help but ultimately she has to make that choice. I'd say there's nothing you can really do other than support her

If i were a friend of someone who was a victim and i knew it i would do two things: a) be there for them, no matter what. b) thoroughly look into finding a local psychologist who specializes in dealing with such cases. it is an issue that has a whole specialization for it. Sometimes finding the right person to help is the most important part.
