I wrote this back in October, when it was my birthday.
A girl named Elisa ( I made her up ) comes over to my house knowing it's my birthday to leave a gift. She calls my cell phone and tells me, " Hey Jon~ I'm over at your house and I know it's really late but I came by to leave you a present, is that okay? " I'm sitting on my computer and I'm just drinking water and since I really like her, I got really shy because she's at my door. I go downstairs quickly and I open the door and I see her holding a present in her hands, carried with a big smile. " Here you go~ It is your birthday after all, but you should open it! " The present was wrapped really well, it had red wrappings and it was tied up with green stripe with a ribbon on top. I gently opened the present and it was a cake with lukewarm candles on it. She goes on to look at me and nodding to say, " Make a wish Jon~ " It was really easy to know what I want. She was eager to know what I wanted so I felt my heart racing as I told her, shyly, " Well... to be with you of course. " She laughed and she gave me the cake to put inside for now which I did, then I came back outside, with my cheeks red. Elisa looked at me and said, " Easy said than done, Jon~ " and you kissed my cheeks. My face turned slightly red as she went back. " It's late, and I don't think my parents want me to be out here too long.. I just came by to drop you off a present. I know I'll be busy sooner or later but I just wanted to stop by because you're special to me. " She hugged me and I hugged her back tightly. " Elisa, thank you so much! You made my night. " She gently lets go of the hug and walks to the car, waving. " Bye Jon~ I'll miss you, lets talk later on skype, okay? " I quickly responded, " We should! Bye Elisa, I miss you too! " I went back inside and ate my cake after she left.
What day is your birthday? Mine's in October too. This is something I wrote around my birthday a few years ago.
Looking out the window, watching children run by Their parents following them close behind, waiting for the bell to ring Dusk settling just over the trees And the light of the city in the back blending in But why on earth am I inside When everyone else is having fun.
I'd like to think I have something more important to do Than play a game of hide and seek That's a poor excuse, it sounds so bleakBecause it's just a lie I tell myselfTo try and feel a little betterWhen I should be out on the streetAnd tonight isn't just any nightThe air is thin and coldBut the neighborhood is still overrun with kidsIt's Halloween, trick or treatAlthough I like to call it something else insteadToday's my birthday.Out there were the darkness is a lightGhouls are smiling, free to roam the nightIt's a story I hate to tellBut who really wants to spend their birthday under a spellTo stay trapped within themselvesUntil the dead are dead again.
