to the females here i have a serious question

meow_tron
a man who cries is really unattractive to me. there are other ways to express sadness that will not make you look like a wuss
animecountryboy
I should be more clear on the fact i basically never cry. If a few tears fall in a single month that is a record. It takes the loss of a life of someone who was close to me for me to cry. Even when i cry only a few single tears fall. That is the result of a harsh past. I do not think shedding a few tears when someone i care for dies. Only one time did a game/manga/anime make me shed a tear. That was Valkyria chronicles... if *spoiler alert* isara's death does not make you shed a single tear you are made of stone... haha jk, but seriously that scene is sad...

There is nothing wrong with a guy crying... everyone has vunerable moments. Im not saying cry all the time but nobody can hold back tears 24/7

If it's like a really serious thing, that's understandable. But I'm kinda no nonsense about crying in general. I don't really know how to handle other people crying because I've always dealt with my issues on my own so for me, it's generally not a matter of crying being repugnant so much as I don't know what to do
atticuselias
But when ash turned to stone and pikachu's eyes started to swell... Was there any other option?

Guys do look sorta wimpy when they cry if they get hit or something. I'd be more accepting if it were over some emotional manner, or at least I'd think. I think it's brave at times to hold tears in, but depending on the situation crying is sometimes stronger. I wouldn't want someone afraid to cry, but I wouldn't want someone who cries easily.

i agree it is wimpy when guys cry from being hit. If someone hits me i either, depending on the situation, walk away, hit them back harder, or put them in a head lock and say, "now what did you learn?" I do NOT hit girls! It is a part of my personal beliefs. There are special places in hell(if it is real) reserved for certain people, one of those places is reserved for guys who hit girls.

I don't see why hitting a girl should be any different than hitting a guy, but violence is rarely ever good. Usually just uncontrolled anger.
tobitairu
I slightly disagree about the no hitting girls. Rather, my rule is I don't hit anyone that can't take it. By that, I mean I won't disrespect someone that considers themselves a warrior simply because they're a woman. As I already don't get violent unless someone is violent toward me, I can't think of any situation where gender would be an issue. If, however, I'm in training with a woman, or am challenged by a woman with training, I'm not going to patronise her, and I'm not going to disrespect her skills. Of course, I say this having had my ass handed to me by a woman that I did exactly that to. She was very eager to open my eyes to my own arrogance on the matter. Never piss off a dedicated martial artist. lol EDIT: I should note, it's not like I go around hitting girls. By that token, I don't go around hitting anyone. But there does seem to be a hesitancy in a lot of male martial artists when it comes to hitting a woman, there's a perception that women are weaker, when women are incredibly skilled martial artists.

Personally if a guy acts tough and tried to pull they guys don't cry crap on my it is a real HUGE turn off. I don't believe there should be any difference between a girl crying and a guy crying. Most people think my dad is a big scary guy because he looks like a biker. He is a very tough guy too, and yet he cries if I give him a sappy birthday card. @tobitairu, you're right about that perception of women being weaker, but I've lost track of how many times I've had to help my brothers out with things because as the mechanic I'm the stronger one. lol. If someone is willing to dish it out then they better damn well be willing to take it. It's these double standards that make it so the guys who are victims of domestic violence and such never come forward about it.
