Some things in the Novus Ordo mass (Roman Catholic mass after Vatican II) has some Latin depending on if the day lists Latin portions in the Roman Catholic Missal for the mass. Sometimes they also use Khoine Greek But if you go to a Traditional Latin Mass, it would be in Latin. If ya ever wanted to go to mass at a Catholic church, Roman or Orthodox I could inform you of certain things you need to do or not to do, or certain traditions for the mass. But if ya do go to a catholic mass do not do not do not take communion (body and blood) if you are not a Catholic. Just cross your arms over your shoulders when you go up to the front and accept the blessing from the priest or deacon.

I have taken communion before, a long time ago. I used to accompany my grandmother when she went to church. I think the church we went to closed down or something and she visited some different churches she was baptist and i think we went to a catholic styled church. There i was given communion, but i was too young to even understand what was going on.

Protestant Communion is a little different, panda. However, the fundamental is that you must be a believer of Christ. Protestants don't believe the "wine"( They usually use grape juice.) is actually the blood of Christ nor the wafer actually the body of Christ(Metaphorically, it is. But, if I'm not mistaken, Catholics traditionaly believe it's the real deal flesh and blood of Christ.) Again, I don't think that's what matters, but there are differences.

Bro you could have been at a Episcopalian or a Presbyterian church and not known it. I mean Catholic churches look like anything across the board these days. By taking communion you're accepted into the body of christ, as a member of the body of Christ you are expected to live out the gospel. In effect it is the first if not one of the first non-ethnic based class systems. You are a member of the body and are expected to occasionally leave the sufferings in the world. To actively pursue or wish for the world to become a better place. Lending a hand when you can. For the longest time it gave people a very big sense of community where members of the church could help each other out. Especially during Catholic persecutions like in Mexico in the 20s during the cristero wars, or in England for much of English History.

Actually you are told it is the body and the actual blood if you go to a Catholic church. This opinion is same no matter if you go to a traditional Latin or a novus ordo @yaasshat If you go to an Orthodox Church it is believed to be the same, however they use different bread. Interesting that the great schism runs evenly down amongst leavened and unleavened bread at communion.
