I can see the appeal because it’ll pivot the conversation away from the pandemic, which trump is handling abysmally, to the courts which appeals to his base. But I just don’t see how a new justice is any consolation to the 200,000 dead and economic devastation. And to have her probably argue for abolishing Obamacare, removing insurance coverage for millions, in that case that’s happening I think a week after the elections while we are still in the first wave of covid is just really inhuman

It'll provide the GOP with a preferable outcome to any law they bring to the Supreme court. Obamacare? Conservatives lead SC strikes it down. Tax increase on the rich? struck down. UBI, environmental regulations, really anything that doesn't suit their lobbyist. COVID-19 literally scars the tissue in the lungs. So we have 7.03 million pre-existing conditions being created right now.

Uhhh, well what made me happy is I’ve never seen such pandering in political ads on tv as I do now. And I live in Texas! It’s supposed to be solid red but with the gains in the house in 2018, even cornyn is trying to portray himself as some big bipartisan legislator. I can’t believe we’re lean republican now

Well that is something. Texas has always had a decent, but uninvolved, Dem/Indie representation. Nice to see them getting a bit more flex!
