Is it bad to be honest?

darkprinceofaudio
The problem is some people say they want the truth when they really just want someone to agree with them.

Some people don't want to hear the truth, and others appreciate. It's always a mixed reaction to it all. Relationship wise for me personally its good, but bad. Idk how to explain it. I haven't been in a relationship in a long ass time and I'm a lonely drunk on milk like Tormund. Seriously be a honest person and the universe will reward you "eventually". Thats what I believe. Tired of head games with women right now tbh.

Lying can be useful in situations like to maintain surprises. But in the context of a relationship, honesty, even the painful stuff, is generally better. Most of the time, stuff you thought would be bad isn't as bad as you made it out to be, and it being forthcoming will build trust Now for shit that's just going to be online lie like hell. Ain't no one online needs to know a single damn fact about you.

It depends on the person really, Morality is fickle like that. Look at it this way, Does your word's value and your own ethics matter more than the person's feelings/outcome. Personally, I'll always be honest, in my opinion one shouldn't ask a question unless they understand they may like the answer. Of course you should also always have some tack, for instance If I care about the person I'll ask them if they want me to be honest or just hear what they want to. I was raised under the rule of "A man is only as good as his word." Or honesty. I also agree with the saying. Making someone "happy" isn't inherently good, if someone is doing something foolish, I'll tell them that it's foolish. If they are unhealthy, and ask a question surrounding it, I'll tell them they are unhealthy. I'll tell them they fucked up or if they were being a dumbass at the time if they do so. People who are worth it and have decent self respect, will always prefer the hard truth over the beautiful lie. You can't fix the issue if you never realize you have it, and you can't change bad behavior if you don't realize what you did was wrong. Lying is never a good thing, even if it has an immediate positive outcome. Now if you had some crazy scenario where you had to lie to save someone else's life. It'd be the lesser of two evils, and be the correct choice, but few are in such situations. And we'll all lie from time to time, No one's perfect. And lying can also be the smart thing to do at times, even if it's not the right thing. In the end only you can choose what's wrong or right for you.
