I was about to say that some shellfish or small sea life might be similar to watch you described. Maybe their reaction to pain is just very primitive too. But I realized they don't bear fruit. You would have to eat them whole xD So it kinda does not count. The only thing I could think of that might not be so harmful is eggs laid by chickens or ducks.

i mean everything we do produces some level of harm, even typing on our keyboards we're killing skin cells, and our computers themselves are made of minerals that were gathered through child labor but because veganism is simply about harm reduction, i would need someone to refute that not consuming meat, eggs, or milk (as well as buying things like leathers and furs) is something that would be unreasonable to stop doing, which is silly because not only is it harmful to the body, but animal agriculture also hurts our environment, so all around its just better to not do it i have heard that some types of oisters may not have the nervous system that's complicated enough to perceive pain, but iv heard it debated that because we cant know yet, we shouldn't consume them. I'm not against eating eggs that you pet chicken may lay, but factory farmed chickens are bred to be so big theyr legs break under them because they cant support their own weight. and male chicks are thrown, while alive, into meat grinders for chicken nuggies

One thing I will say about oysters though. They filter water, so if the oysters are hanging around poisonous waters, it's a bad idea to eat em.
