There was also someone who wrote something in 1995, very similarly. "Predating Britt’s list, Eco wrote an essay in 1995 for the New York Review of Books titled “Ur-Fascism.” In it, he provides his own list of features of fascist movements. Britt claimed to have read a number of books on fascism, so it’s possible, even likely, that he was aware of Eco’s essay." It was distributed broadly first by a magazine owned by a company owned by someone adamantly republican, then through internet spreading/sharing, was picked up in fair use by liberals and has been more commonly used in referance to liberal posts online. (It's scary how much information this guy has on this one article. Being in that line of work I am impressed at this guy's research.) Before finding this out and watching the video you posted, I was following every point the guy was saying but at the same time, what he says implying for the US, I could just as easy identify it to another country. As for a debate, there isn't really anything to debate. I understand and follow everything you have said and agree. The extremists on both sides are the ones with the loudest mouths and the silent majority really just wants to be left the fuck alone. I think that's why there is a rise on the moderate movement. People are sick of the devisivness and the inability to have a working/PRODUCTIVE goverment instead of a heinous power struggle between US and foreign corperations.
